Tree Lighting and Kids Holiday Store
Rescheduled Date & Time: Friday, December 9
Tree Lighting: 6 p.m.
Kids Holiday Store: 5 - 9 p.m.
Simpson Plaza at City Hall
(6101 Frisco Square Blvd.)
The annual Tree Lighting Ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. at Simpson Plaza, which is located in front of the George A. Purefoy Municipal Center, 6101 Frisco Square Blvd. The Kids’ Holiday Store will be open from 5 – 9 p.m. at City Hall, which is located inside the municipal center.
Entry for the Kids’ Holiday Store will move to the front of City Hall – and shoppers will be served on a ‘first-come, first served’ basis. Shopping sessions will continue to last twenty minutes.
The Kids’ Holiday Store will be open to children, ages 3 – 12, providing them an opportunity to find something special for mom and dad – or even a brother or sister. Everything in the store is priced at $5 or less. “Santa’s Helpers” volunteers will assist young shoppers, who will go home with wrapped gifts to surprise their loved ones.
Aside from the Tree Lighting and the Kids’ Holiday Store, the City of Frisco invites the public to enjoy its spectacular holiday lights show choreographed to music. The city partners with Frisco Square on the light display, which runs from 6 – 10 p.m. nightly now through January 7. The light show is considered to be one of the largest choreographed light displays in Texas! Visitors may also enjoy “Lights on Ice”, Frisco’s first ever outdoor ice skating rink, located in Frisco Square. Skating instructors and students with the Dr Pepper Arena will perform from 6:30 – 7 p.m. For more information, go to www.friscosquare.com
